City Break & Traditional Bread Making Experience

This is the perfect city break for anyone that wants to understand a little more about Latvian culture. Staying in a centrally located 4-star hotel, you can explore the streets of Riga. Wander around the beautiful UNESCO heritage old town, soak up the history, both medieval and more recent, that have helped to shape the capital of Latvia.

You will also learn the traditions of making rye-bread, a dark bread that runs deep in Latvian history. During the tour, you will learn about the baking process, see the special ovens used to bake the bread and also taste the different ingredients used to form the bread’s unique flavour.

Your hotel is located just a short walk from Riga’s old town. The package includes a 2-night stay in a standard twin or double rooms, upgrades are available upon request and for an additional fee.

Provisional Itinerary

Day 1 “Arrival Day”

We will collect you from the airport for a private transfer to your hotel in Riga. Depending on your arrival time, you have free time to explore the city or take some time at the hotel.”

Day 2 “Traditional Bread Making”

Around 10:00 we will leave for the bakery, it\’s located around 30 minutes from Riga. The excursion lasts 1.5 – 2 hours and includes;

• Guided tour along with the bakery
• Introduction to a baker’s job, tools
• A story told about the history and operation of the bakery
• Baking your own loaf
• Degustation of bread and toasts
• Educational narration about the valuable qualities of rye bread

13:00 Return to Hotel where you have free time.

Day 3 “Departure Day”

Check-out from the hotel is at 12:00 (midday),  we will meet you at the hotel for your return transfer, 3hrs before your scheduled flight time
